By using this site you accept the terms below. They are short on purpose.
What this service is
TyresGone searches a copy of the Environment Agency public register of waste carriers, brokers and dealers. The copy is refreshed nightly. Every result shows the date the underlying data was synced, and every result reports what that register said at that point in time — nothing more.
The register itself is published by the Environment Agency under the Open Government Licence and can be searched directly at the Environment Agency public register. Where our copy and the register disagree, the register is right.
What it is not
- It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for it.
- It does not verify anything beyond registration status: not insurance, not competence, not where waste actually ends up.
- It is not an endorsement, approval or recommendation of any business listed on it.
- It does not transfer, reduce or discharge any legal duty. Your duty of care under section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 stays with you.
Accuracy
The data is reproduced as published. It can be out of date, it can contain errors made at source, and the service can be unavailable. No warranty is given as to accuracy, completeness or availability, and decisions you take on the strength of a result are yours.
Expiry status is calculated from the expiry date held in the register at the time of the last sync. A registration that changed very recently may not be reflected here yet.
If an entry about your business is wrong, the correction has to be made at the Environment Agency. Once it is corrected there, it reaches this site on the next nightly sync.
Affiliation
TyresGone is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the Environment Agency or Defra. It is an independent service that reads a public register.
Acceptable use
Use the site for checking carriers. Do not attempt to scrape it in bulk, disrupt it, or present its output as official confirmation from a regulator. Do not extract the register in bulk, hold yourself out as a business listed here, or misuse contact details taken from it.
Changes
These terms may change as the service grows. The version on this page is the one that applies.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
