Report a concern
We are not the regulator. The Environment Agency is, and for anything that needs acting on, it is the Environment Agency or your council who can act. This page says who to tell, and what to expect from us.
If waste has been fly-tipped
For small-scale dumping — a few bags, a handful of tyres, a small commercial load — GOV.UK directs you to the environmental health team at your local council.
For large-scale dumping, hazardous waste or anything that looks organised, GOV.UK gives the Environment Agency incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60, a 24-hour service. The same number covers pollution and anything posing an immediate risk to people or the environment. See reporting fly-tipping and waste crime and report an environmental incident.
If the waste is on your own land, GOV.UK sets out what you are expected to do about it — and the incident hotline still applies where there is a risk to the environment or human health.
If a carrier appears to be operating without registration
Carrying waste produced by another business without being registered is an offence, and it is the Environment Agency that enforces it. Report it through report an environmental incident, or on the incident hotline above.
Before reporting, it is worth searching the register here by business name or CBD number: a collector trading under a name that differs from their registered company name is common and lawful, and the registration may simply be held under the other name.
If a register entry itself looks wrong
We publish a nightly copy of what the register says. We cannot amend the register, and nothing changed with us would change it. A wrong name, a wrong address, a wrong tier or a registration that should have ended has to be corrected with the Environment Agency, on the public register itself.
Once the Environment Agency makes a change, it reaches this site at the next nightly sync without anyone having to ask us.
If something on this site is wrong
A name rendered badly, a page that will not load, a town filed under the wrong county, a broken link: that is ours, and we would rather know. Email hello@tyresgone.co.uk.
There is no form on this page and nothing is collected here. If you email us, we have your email — and nothing else.
What we will and will not do
The register is public and published under the Open Government Licence. We will not remove a current, lawful registration because the holder would rather it were not found.
We will correct anything we have got wrong about an entry, including how we have grouped it by town or county. Anything the Environment Agency removes disappears here at the next nightly sync. And we act on a genuine personal-safety concern, or on a registered address that is a private home rather than business premises — email privacy@tyresgone.co.uk.
We do not investigate collectors, rate them, or describe any business as checked beyond what the register says on the day we read it. The full position is on the privacy page.
