For tyre suppliers who take casings on delivery

If your driver drops off new stock and takes the old casings away, that movement is a movement of another business’s controlled waste, and which registration covers it is worth establishing — it may be your own, a haulier’s or a waste management firm’s, depending on how the round is arranged. Since 1 October 2026, permitted waste receiving sites in England record each carrier's registration number digitally (SI 2026/729). This page is about making that answer easy to show.

The Digital Waste Tracking (England) Regulations 2026

SI 2026/729 · made 24 June 2026

What it requires

  • Who: sites in England holding an environmental permit to receive waste.
  • What: every load they receive is recorded on the government's digital waste tracking service.
  • Includes: who carried the load and their waste carrier registration number, the vehicle registration, waste codes, weights, and the recovery or disposal operation.
  • When: by the end of the second working day after the day the load arrives.
  • Cost to those sites: £26 a year per organisation.

What it does not change

  • Garages and other waste producers have no new duty. The duty of care is unchanged.
  • Waste transfer notes continue as before.
  • Sites operating under a registered exemption, such as T8, are not covered. Exemptions are lawful.

If you deliver to a permitted site, your waste carrier registration number is now recorded with every load you bring.

What garages check

One screen: registered name, registration number, tier, registration type, status, the address the register holds and the expiry date. It is the Environment Agency’s own data, copied from the register, printed as a docket a garage can keep with its transfer notes.

Nothing on it is our judgement of your business. The expiry wording is arithmetic against today’s date.

What you can show

  • Planned: your depots — each one linked to the town it serves, so a garage can see you cover it.
  • Planned: that your drivers collect on delivery — stated by you and labelled as your own declaration, not ours.
  • A registration badge — one per registration, drawn from our copy of the register with its copy date, for your own site.
  • Planned: a delivery-note line — your registration number and the address of your page, generated for you to print at the foot of a delivery note.

The background is in does your tyre supplier collect your old tyres?

What we will never do

No ratings. No comparisons between one way of collecting waste and another. No adverts. The register says who is registered; it does not say who is best, and neither do we.

Network profiles

If you run a depot network and want every registration in it claimed and kept current from one place, write to sales@tyresgone.co.uk and tell us how many registrations you hold.

Planned: multi-site access for the Fleet plan, with depot and branch-level management.
